LOVE AT "THIRD" SIGHT

New York City

05.05.10

Laura and Greg met in New York City in spring of 2010.

It took a few serendipitous meetings, a few more awkward "re-introductions" and finally a dinner organized by friends, when he finally asked for her number following a dispute over brussels sprouts...strictly to discuss business matters, of course, or so he claimed. Laura gave him her business card, they met for coffee, a couple of "business" meetings later and following one rosé fueled spring night they shared their first kiss.  Later it would be on a park bench in the West Village that they said "Alea iacta est", and decided to seal their fate in the stars.

THE PROPOSAL

Pont Des Arts, Paris

05.05.15

Just exactly like in one of their favorite Lou Reed songs, "Perfect Day"...Greg has wrapped Laura's dream Tiffany's ring hidden in a Chanel Boy bag, and sneaked a tiny speaker into it as well. He set a rendezvous in the middle of the lovelock bridge in Paris at 8pm. It's almost Sunset. He walks forwards. She does as well, and they are almost together in the middle of that bridge over the Seine. "At last", from Elsa Fitzgerald is now playing from within the large bag she is holding. The song they listened to in Bali, that special night. It's their 5th anniversary. Her smile is as big and beautiful as ever. They are surrounded by Notre Dame, Le Grand Palais, L'ile Saint Louis. She's expecting just another special gift, and opens it. She feels in her gut it might be even more special this time. He kneels, and asks her to become his wife, she sees the ring. A few passerbys are staring, smiling or crying. The sky is now purple.

She says OUI.

He is the happiest man in the world.

RIDING INTO SUNSET

We have travelled the world over together, sharing a love for adventure and whimsy ... here are just a few of those memories.

Lille: Greg's birthplace and where his grandfather is a soccer legend. It's where he dreamed big and met the greatest friends who would encourage, push and shape the man he is today.

Tulum: A magical first trip together. Long walks on the beach, too much guacamole and margaritas, dancing and laughing with locals and stargazing at night. We fell in love with Tulum and will be sharing this beautiful place with you in 2020.

Bali: Where we retired for ONE MONTH after Greg "quit" and sold Hello Pasta to McDonalds for several million dollars. "Backpacking" from east to west, we wandered through miles of rice paddy fields, scuba-dived with sea turtles, hiked to hidden waterfalls, found tranquility in Ubud, attacked by a monkey in Ubud and witnessed the most incredible, red sunsets on a nearly deserted island. This was our most unforgettable trip.

Saint-Barths: Secluded beaches and special moments with dear friends dancing barefoot and drinking beaucoup rosé wine.

Black Rock City: Impossible to explain. Visit our burning man camp website if you dare at www.joiedevivrecamp.com

The Hamptons: Our NYC backyard playground...summers, winters, birthdays, weekends...it's where we film our "petits-mouchoir"...many friendships born and others strengthened.

Rome: Laura always thought she would marry an Italian after watching the Godfather one too many times. She got a Frenchie instead. After the magical proposal in Paris, her Frenchie whisked her away on a surprise trip to Rome...it was the least he could do after all. Living la dolce vita!

Venice: A birthday surprise for Laura on New Year's Eve. Gondola rides, a truffle pasta that brought us to tears, art that made us scratch our heads in wonder or confusion, a hotel on a secluded island reachable only by boat, the delicate yet lethal bellinis at Harry's, the mystical lights at dusk...there's nothing like Venice in the world.

Saint-Pantaleon de Larches (Corezes): The true center of the universe, where the most interesting man in the world lives. Tennis there is great. The food is greater. The scotch greatest.

Ibiza: Greg met his doppelgänger, DJ Solomun (incroyable).

Thailand: Where Laura kicked Greg's butt in Muay Thai.

Jamaica: Ya mon! Lobster and reggae vibes extravaganza.

Prague: The lights, the music, the beer...oh my!

Other places travelled with too many memories to share here...Saint-Tropez, Bruxelles, London, Marrakech, Rio de Janeiro, Florence, Bordeaux, Santorini, Porto, Corsica, Switzerland, Biarritz, Barcelona, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, Nice, Berlin...

Our next planned adventures in 2019-2020: Tokyo, Seoul and...with a little bit of your help...Africa!

TIGROU + DRAGON

The Tiger and Dragon are two of the physically strongest creatures – in Chinese zodiac, these two signs are likewise representative of great intensity and powerful personalities.

Initially the Dragon and Tiger might be drawn to each other by the sheer force of their mutual personalities. The Dragon has a magnetism and charisma that few other signs in the zodiac force possess and the Tiger may be drawn to him like a moth to the flame. On the other hand the individuality and the brilliant mind of the Tiger may prove to be equally irresistible to the Dragon man who will be keen to know this singular personality even better.

The Dragon and Tiger share one important personality trait – their sociability – which could go a long way in bringing them close. Both like being around and amidst people; while for the Dragon, their social popularity is an essential validation of their egoistic nature, in case of the Tiger their social circle is the perfect medium for lively intellectual discussions and exchanges. This as well as the fact that both will keep each other stimulated by new interests and activities will ensure that the relationship never becomes monotonous.

Never a dull moment.
